[Inadequacy of psychology counseling for treating psychological disorders_1]

Many people seek to get help from psychology counseling when they develop psychological disorders. Korea Institute of Psychology have found from years of research and practice that it is almost impossible to treat psychological disorders employing psychology counseling. Psychology counseling may be sufficiently effective for solving mild cases of psychological problems, but not for treating psychological disorders that are fixated conditions. It may result in spending time, effort, and expense without adequate normalization of psychology at its fundamental level making both the counselor and the client give up from exhaustion. KIP has succeeded in developing a more effective and less time-consuming treatment methods that address the underlying mechanism of psychological disorders and has successfully applied them for more than a decade.

The following points are to be cautioned against when you adopt psychology counseling to treat psychological disorders.

1. Retrieving and analyzing experiences of childhood, growth period, and past relationships only aggravates psychological conditions let alone treatment.

2. Standardized diagnostic tests for psychological disorders or any type of standardized personality tests do not help diagnosis or treatment of psychological disorders.

3. The counselor's providing empathy and forming rapport misguide the client to aggravate the condition or develop another type of psychological disorder on top of the present one. It can be quite dangerous when neither party understands the adverse effects of forming rapport between the counselor and the client.

4. Providing and suggesting practical coping strategies including emotional coaching can also aggravate the condition and misguide the client to take seemingly beneficial but actually detrimental path of life. Such counselors may even have some selfish purposes taking advantage of the client's tendency of dependence.

Inaccurate approaches to treatment of psychological disorders only make matters worse burdening you with expenditure of all kinds of resources for the whole life time.
